Best Bluetooth Speakers and Sound Systems For Jet Skis

It is usually hit or miss on whether your jet ski will come with a factory-installed sound system. This is something that many riders will want to add to their setup if it did not come on the jet ski from the factory. You have a ton of options to choose from, varying in price, quality, and portability. If you want a Speaker that you can take with you on the jet ski and elsewhere, a high-end waterproof, Bluetooth Speaker is your best option. However, if you want a more permanent solution to your jet ski sound system problem, there are options for that too.

We will go into more detail about our top picks below – the best jet ski speakers are:

  1. JBL Flip 5
  2. JBL Clip 3
  3. Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2
  4. Pyle Marine ATV Powered Speakers

The Benefits of Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speakers

If you decide to use a waterproof and portable solution, you’re going to want to choose a bluetooth Speaker. The benefit to using a portable bluetooth Speaker is that you aren’t locked in to only using it while on your jet ski. If you get off your jet ski and want to take your Speaker off the water, you’re able to. If you want to take your Speaker to the pool, and not worry about breaking it with water damage, with a portable waterproof bluetooth Speaker you have that option too.

With recent advances in Speaker and audio technology, it is possible to get a great sounding bluetooth Speaker without breaking the bank. The style of Speaker that you choose is going to depend on how much space you have in/on your jet ski. The Speaker that you can easily manage size-wise is going to be different if you have a lite-rec jet ski than if you have a luxury jet ski, or a larger recreational or performance jet ski.

This our top pick for handlebar speakers. If it fits on your jet ski’s handlebars, this will be the closest thing short of actually installing a speaker system. Let’s face it, whenever you see a small speaker you expect a muddy, unclear sound. But don’t be fooled with this speaker’s size. In fact, you will be shocked by how clear this JBL Clip 3 is.

I’m not saying that this is the loudest and most clear speaker in the market, because it isn’t. However, for the size, the sound quality is freaking awesome.

Speaking of the size, The JBL Clip 3 is only 2.17 inches in diameter with an extremely durable 2.16 inches corrosion-resistant carabiner that you can clip onto any surface on your PWC. It’s even small enough that you could clip it onto your life jacket or jet ski bag.

Another reason to choose this PWC speaker is the waterproofing.

As you would expect from a high-quality jet ski sound system, JBL Clip 3 speaker is IPX7 rated. This means that it won’t only withstand rain and spraying water but also can survive submersion for up to 30 minutes, so even if you dropped your speaker in the water, it will work just fine.

If you tend to get a lot of phone calls while traveling, then the JBL Jet Ski Speaker is specially designed for you.

JBL equipped their PWC sound system with an advanced mic that does an extremely good job of ignoring the noise around you. No motor sound, no wave crashes sound, no echo, just your sweet voice and nothing else.

For the running time, the JBL Sea-Doo Speaker can run for up to 10 hours and can be fully charged within only 3 hours using the included USB cable.

However, although it’s advertised to last for 10 hours, they didn’t mention that it will only last this long if you are playing at 50%, which you will definitely exceed, as this isn’t the loudest speaker as we mentioned.

So, you should expect your speaker to last for only 5-7 hours, which is still more than enough for most users on the water.

One thing I really like about the JBL Clip 3 is the addition of buttons on the speaker body, which allows you to pause, play, skip, turn the volume up and down without the need to use your phone and risk it falling in the water.

Overall, this is a very decent speaker that offers tons of sound in a small waterproof package, making it a perfect speaker for jet skis.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 has a battery life of over 10 hours on a single full charge. It is IP67 rated to be waterproof and dustproof. It has a 360 degree radius of sound and can be paired with another device to provide true stereo sound. Ultimate Ears has several other speakers that fit the portable, bluetooth and waterproof/resistant bill, but the Wonderboom 2 is hands down the most portable and versatile of all of these speakers. Integrated Jet Ski Sound System Solutions

If you want a more permanent solution for your jet ski sound system, you’re not totally out of luck. There are varying levels of permanence when it comes to more integrated Speaker solutions for your PWC. Non portable solutions range from integrated speakers and subwoofers like you would find a car or truck, to aftermarket add-on speakers that do not live inside the body of your jet ski.

Add On Speakers

Pyle Marine ATV Powered Speakers

The Pyle Marine Speaker system has volume capability of up to 90db, and is compatible with Bluetooth 4.0. If you have the room on your jet ski, it is a great solution to ensure that you have loud, clear and crisp sound while you’re out riding.

Fully Integrated Solutions

A fully integrated solution is going to be the nicest solution to your jet ski sound system problem. There are only a couple downsides to using a fully integrated solution on your personal watercraft. The first of these is going to be cost, a fully integrated solution is going to be more expensive than a portable solution 9 times out of 10. The other downside is that sometimes the installation can be a bit time consuming and tricky. That being said, if you want the best of the best when it comes to a sound system solution for your jet ski, and it didn’t come with factory speakers, an integrated solution is definitely the way to go.

Kawasaki Speaker and Amp Package

This is our choice of speakers for Kawasaki waverunners. It is a fully featured solution to make your sound crisp, clean and loud.

SeaDoo BRP for RXT, RXT-X, GTX and WAKE Pro

If you have a SeaDoo, your best bet is getting an aftermarket, OEM sound system solution. Make sure you check manufacturer specified compatibility before deciding on this option, there’s little worse than receiving something and not having it work with your specific model.

Whichever route you choose, you’ll have the capability to enjoy music while out cruising on your jet ski! If you have a favorite sound system solution, make sure you drop us a note!
